All About Colors

Have You had Your Colors Done?
This question has been circulating since the 1980s—and for good reason. Color Me Beautiful by Carole Jackson became the definitive guide to understanding personal color, and no other book on the subject has been more widely distributed.
Thanks to a recent New York Times feature, plus a wave of TikTok and Instagram content from Gen Z and Millennials, color analysis is experiencing a major resurgence.
Why? Because choosing the right colors for your skin tone, eye color, and hair color works. It has always worked.

Color Me Beautiful

My Love for Color
My love for color began in the fall of 1983. A friend mentioned she was having her colors done, and I was instantly intrigued by the idea that simply wearing the right colors—in clothing and makeup—could enhance natural beauty. At the time, I was living in Princeton, NJ, home with two small children, and looking for a way to earn income while still being present for my family.
Once I had my own colors done, I was hooked. I knew I wanted to become a color and image consultant, and I wanted the best training available. That led me to Seattle, WA, where I trained directly with Carole Jackson and her team at Color Me Beautiful. The program was extensive and hands‑on. After analyzing dozens of models, I completed the course at the top of my class.
I built a successful home‑based business—until life took us back to Texas in 1986. The economy was struggling, and it wasn’t the right time to relaunch my business. So I went back to school, built a career in sales, and watched as color analysis slowly faded from the spotlight.
A Full-Circle Moment
Fast‑forward to today. Color analysis has returned stronger than ever, embraced by a new generation and supported by modern tools and deeper understanding. I had retired from sales and found myself longing for something meaningful and fulfilling. I still had my drapes, so I reached out to Color Me Beautiful—and they welcomed me back with open arms.
I dove into their updated, highly individualized color system, along with advanced style and image training. And I’m thrilled to be practicing again.

A New Era of Precision
Traditional color analysis placed people into four broad “seasons”: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. Helpful, yes—but not always precise. Many people never fit neatly into those categories.
The Color Alliance system changes everything. With 372 classifications and millions of possible color combinations, it offers an unmatched level of accuracy and individuality. No other system provides this degree of personalization.
If you’re ready to discover the colors that bring out your natural beauty, I’d love to help you identify the services that best support your goals.
